PROJECT ENGINEER
Job description
This is a key role responsible for overseeing the design, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning of large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, and commissioning activities
- Supervise contractors, ensuring adherence to technical standards, budget, quality, and schedule
- Proactively address scheduling risks and implement recovery plans
- Monitor and validate design inputs to ensure operational efficiency and long-term asset performance
- Support the development of technical specifications for equipment, packages, and services
- Ensure construction meets international safety and quality standards
- Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture through leadership and example
- Organize commissioning activities and ensure smooth handover to operations, including training and documentation
- Maintain proper project documentation and reporting, aligned with stakeholder expectations
- Establish and maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with shareholders
- Ensure all site activities comply with Mongolian laws and internal company policies, especially regarding safety and environmental protection
- Coordinate cross-functional support with other departments
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in complex industrial or infrastructure projects
- At least 5 years in a senior engineering or leadership role within an EPC or EPCM project delivery model
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process flow diagrams
- Proven experience in construction, commissioning, and operational readiness
- Proficiency in project planning tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with Mongolian permitting and compliance processes (preferred)
- Fluency in Mongolian and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working in multicultural, international project environments
